I really really want to like this place. I love townie bars that feel like you walked into someone's basement. Servers were all chicks, definite plus. Unfortunately we got a short brunette with glasses that wasn't very friendly. Not sure if she was just busy that night, but I don't think she smiled or even made eye contact once. Burgers were "okay", but very reasonably priced. Beer selection isn't much, but then again you can't expect too much from a place that feels like the elks club or VFW. However, since our waitress didn't make us feel all that welcome, we didn't stick around for long. As we were walking out one of the other girls was very friendly and asked if we'd been helped. If only she had been our waitress that night, maybe this place would have 5 stars instead of 3.

It was an okay joint, but my vodka & tonic with lime was more like.....lime water. Tonic wasn't even carbonated. No joke, tasted like they forgot the vodka all together. Staff was nice, regulars were cool, and service was decent, but when I want a drink....I want a real drink. Didn't bother to try the food after the drink disappointment.

This place has some not so good reviews around the yelp community. I have to say, this bar has some of the most loyal regulars I have seen and they obviously don't yelp. The bar really isn't anything special but I still enjoy it. It is a nice laid back spot. True beer selction hasn't been the greatest, but it doesn't matter now, because as of last night they have Bells 2 Hearted Ale on tap! They have recently also expanded their menu and have a nice variety of pub pizza selections. I didn't try one yet, but they were slanging pies left and right to hungry patrons. Also the burgers here are great. All in all, a nice hole in the wall, dark without popped collars and annoying "just turned 21" u of m kids.

I've been to Fraser's 3 times since moving to Ann Arbor a few years ago. Overall, I would describe it as a perfectly fine neighborhood bar. Some reasons why I liked it: - Very laid back (except on Michigan game days) - Solid bartenders/waitresses. Came by the right amount of times, knew when to leave you alone also - Very close to my house Some reasons why it isn't above 3 stars: - Very dark on the inside, and not in a atmospheric way. More like a dingy way. - Food was ok -- nothing super great. We ordered chicken strips and pizza, and both were fine. Both were also very affordable.

Excellent fries. Really. But if you're a vegan, be careful. They cook everything in lard, or so the waitress told me. I didn't polygraph her, but what kind of village idiot would lie about that? Really, what could you possibly gain by describing the animal by-products that went into crafting the famous Fraiser's onion rings? The atmosphere inside the bar is pretty dingy, but what do you expect? Don't go here if overhearing tales of shitty golf games played earlier in the day will piss you off. Apparently, they have good pizza too, but I haven't had it yet. If you're really ugly or big-fat, and you are looking to slut it out with some out-of-town business men of a medium caliber, the lighting here is very forgiving. In this regard, the only competition is Banfield's East. In all fairness though, Banfield's East is a more pure time machine, if you ever wanted a time machine that could take you to 1989 and smell like an old Video Hut. Only thing this place is missing is a fake fireplace, or even a fake fireplace VHS on the TV. Really, any day now...

The best thing about Fraser's is that absolutely anyone can go there at any time and not feel conspicuous or out of place. Of course, you may not want to patronize a bar that has as much room for the uncool townie of a certain age as for the college student; it suits me. I like the open layout, the bar, the tables, the placement of the TVs so that you can ignore them or watch as you choose. The food will kill you over the long term, like most bar food: it's the standard fare. The buns holding my hamburger or fish fillet dissolve into a sloppy mess, also fairly typical. The place is crazy wild during UofM football games, if that's what you're after; get there at least an hour early.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant/bar! Make sure to try their signature burgers and wings. Amazing!! And the price is right. :-)

OK, nooooow I remember why people must go. I went a second time and was reminded how the waitresses/bartenders all wear tight, tiny, low-cut tops. No smoking now brings it to 2.5 stars.

I really like Fraser's. It's a great place to get together with a group to hang out for an evening. They have terrific hamburgers and reasonable beer prices. It's a good place to watch a sports game too. The place has a great atmosphere.

I was drawn to Fraser's by the "FREE WIRELESS INTERNET" banner visible driving down Packard. A bar with free wireless? Seemed strange, but I sort of wanted to try it out. Well, the wireless didn't work. And they were out of the dinner special. And they don't have ANY dessert food. And it was cold inside. And smoky - they even had a cigarette machine, haven't seen one of those in awhile. But the cheese fries were good, if not cheesy enough, and the service was good... my server even gave me a free salad. It wasn't a very good salad, but free salads don't have to be.

Before the smoking ban, I avoided going here. My husband and I went once pre-ban and it was extremely smoky (as others have noted here). But now it's a regular hang out of ours! It's very close to our home and there is always parking (although not always right in front). I am a huge craft beer fan and I am usually happy with their selection. Of course I would like to see more, but they are trying. The pizza is EXCELLENT, but they don't have it available every day. Great atmosphere...I always feel welcome and comfortable. No pretentious hipsters, poseurs or douchebags that I can tell....

If I would've gone to Michigan I would've spent a great deal of time at Frasers. Now I frequent this fine establishment when I'm longing for Crunchy's and feeling a tad surly, and it doesn't disappoint.

After reading mixed reviews on Yelp, I was cautious about eating here. The food was decent, just average. I had nachos, and my boyfriend had a burger. The reason for only one star is the poor service. We sat down and had to wait at least 10 minutes before anyone offered us a menu. It seems as if the servers don't have sections; they just all take turns coming (or not coming) to your table. We finally placed our order, and we never saw the server again. No "how is everything?" No refills. Nothing. My boyfriend had to walk to another table and use their ketchup because our server never came near us. Then, we had to flag down a server to bring us the check. We won't be going back.

Amazing burgers (try the smokehouse), often rotating and varied local beers on draft, and attentive servers who can typically remember return customers (me!) and their orders. The vibe is basically neighborhood hangout/sports bar. Good for a large group, but avoid Wednesday's Trivia Night if you want a chill atmosphere.

Been having a craving lately for, of all things, a simple grilled chicken sandwich. Practically everyone serves bird on a bun, but I've been wanting to return to Fraser's, so there I went. We went there a while back for burgers, weren't all that impressed. Patty didn't have much flavor, was overcooked. Draft beers were a little pricy. In spite of that, I did like the atmosphere. Very comfy, unpretentious neighborhood bar, something rare in Ann Arbor. That's what drew me back today, though maybe I should have paid more attention to my memories of the food. The chicken wasn't bad, but was a little dry. It was topped with bacon, which really didn't add much. Honey mustard sauce came on the side, but one bite of the sandwich with a little of it schmeared on persuaded me to eat the rest plain. Service was fine, and I did appreciate the bottle of Alaskan Brewing IPA on special for $3. Otherwise, the epitome of "eh."

Trust me when I say, this is THE local bar. You cannot find a more reliable, friendly staff in town. I was new in town, had no friends and knew no one. I came here, was welcomed and now I don't have any friends other then the people who work here or the regulars that come in. Yes, it's seems sad for me but it's not. Besides the people, the food is great. Nachos are awesome, the Mahi sliders are a favorite. The burgers, thr burgers are the real deal. Everything else aside, you have to meet Jarrell. Just ask for him, he'll be there.

This place reminded me of a hospital lobby waiting room. There was something abundantly wrong with everyone in this place, including with the two girls behind the bar. They wouldn't know how to make real drinks is someone forced them down their throats, and customer service? forget about it. This place was an extreme fail on all levels of what I look for in a good neighborhood bar. Unless there is a change in management or staff I Will never return. It was a Saturday night. When we exited the car, an extremely large (wide) gentleman standing next to the entrance smoking. I don't believe he was an employee (or at least I hope not), but he greeted us and stated " This is not a smoking bar". My friends and I looked at eachother and kind of "Yeah no kidding"... Once we entered there was a large table of people in front of us, they all looked out of it.. Im not sure if they were heavily served or on drugs, or maybe even mentally impaired. But they stared at us the whole time, one gentleman was even turned all the way around and drooling as he starred. Once at the bar, the two ladies behind the bar were all the way at one corner talking to an older gentleman that came off to me as the owner or manager. they sat there laughing and joking for a good 4-5 minutes. before even acknowledging us. Once they did see us, you could just see their eyes roll. I was so shocked that they were that obvious at it when it came time to order my drink I was caught off guard. I was wondering why were eyes rolled when they saw us, why was there an enormously noticeable sign? We were all well dressed, on the way from one place to another, ordered nothing but premium spirits, and there was a small group of us (4 people). How can anyone be upset when a group of 4 local people, used to drinking on Main street step in their obviously forgotten dive bar and have a drink or two? Once the bar tender left us, which was immediately after she served us our drinks. I was able to ask everyone if they felt the same way I did, and they surely did. We thought , well maybe we caught them off guard and they were in the middle of a good conversation when we came in, so we decided to wait until she came back and asked if would like anything else. Well, that took a while, and when she did she was just as rude as before so we all decided to leave. Granted we were on the way somewhere else, we were clearly not in a hurry. we could have very much decided to stay here, and end up coming back. Not now, they can keep the weird local crowed they have. I will enjoy watching this place go up for sale when it does.

Stopped in for the first time in 10 years the other night. Had drinks only, but 10 years later it still seems like a cool townie bar. I'll get some food in the future and write a better review.

I've been here a few times but a few years passed between my second and third visits. Last night I got the fish & chips, which was pretty good although the tartar sauce (?) it came with was kind of bland. The food was hot, but I started getting a grease hangover halfway through. (My fault for ordering something I knew was going to be uber-greasy!) The coleslaw was delicious though! Tried my bf's potato chips (actual chips, not fries), and though they were crispy, they were a bit flavorless and could have used more salt. Service was fine--friendly & attentive. Though at the end of our visit, our waitress randomly changed, and she sort of messed stuff up (we ordered everything on separate checks, but the new waitress brought out one check)... the original waitress saw this from afar and showed up with our separate checks, which we really appreciated. Pretty standard for a dive-y pub.

My reviiws of the restaurant are mixed... I came in because I had purchased a Living Social Deal. Pros: I had the quarter pound cheeseburger and it was pretty good! It came with a lot of fries, which was nice, but I thought they could have been cooked a little bit more. Their happy hour specials are great! I wasn't sure what to expect, but the wine was only $3/$4 a glass. They had a nice menu.. A lot of sandwiches, salads, burgers, a few fish entrees, appetizers, etc. Cons: The service. The bartender was nice at first and then she just disapeared to the end of the bar and I sat there and waited, and waited. At least she was having fun. I saw her chatting it up with a regular guest (she knew him by name so I am guessing he is a regular), drinking wine and yellling the F bomb..... I'm guessing her shift ended and she didn't tell me... Another bartender came on an poured me a glass of wine. When I put my debit card on the bar to bar to pay I had to wait quite awhile. I kept pushing it to the end of the bar to get someone's attention and then some random man took and it and very quietly said thanks for coming. Overall, the food was ok. Service was ok. I'd stop again if I were on that side of Ann Arbor. And starving.

I'm dinging Fraser's a star based on my recent experience for two reasons: 1. Fraser's is the first bar in A2 I've been to that outlawed 'vaping'. I'm not sure why and I am sure that 99% of people could care less, but I dislike it on principle and hate it personally. I get that they've dumped some money on the place to make it 'nicer', but come on people. You're still Fraser's. People come to drink and watch sports, vaping isn't hurting anyone. 2. Man I forgot how miserable the service always is. I don't need to be treated like a king, but the disdain I always seem to get here boggles the mind. So I'm done with Fraser's. I'm not quite sure what's keeping me from giving them one star. I guess because I can see how some people enjoy it, but I'm not one of those people. Maybe I should thank them for giving me a concrete reason to never go there again?

Fraser's is a bit outside my usual downtown bubble, but it's such a great neighborhood bar, I try to show up at least once a week. Top 3 bars in Ann Arbor, and it's the best way to flee the yuppie vibe when you want something down to earth. If you're looking to watch a game, there are plenty of TVs, but it's just as good for an after-softball burger and pitcher night, or to sit at the bar and unwind. The staff is really friendly, and you can tell that it's a place where a bunch of people know each other. Go more than once, and you'll already recognize the regulars. Great food (spiciest buffalo wrap in town, awesome burgers), and even better, the kitchen is open later than most spots downtown. Plenty of hip Michigan beer, and enough cheap Canadian stuff to drink by the pitcher when things are rowdier. At least 20 taps. Fraser's

Pretty good burgers and beers. Good prices too. The bar is nice but if you're at a table, the service isn't the best. Every time I'm there it has been busy and it seems like they weren't expecting it so they were under-staffed. Overall, it's a decent sports bar, but I think it could do better, especially since it doesn't really have any competitors on that side of town. With the right management, I think that location has the potential to make this place an Ann Arbor hot spot, but it misses the mark.

My boyfriend and I discovered Fraser's about a year and a half ago. We fell in love instantly! Angry orchard on tap and some of the best Fish and Chips we'd had in years! We trie to go in a couple times, but since the fall it was always too busy for us, so we decided against it. Then a couple nights ago we final decided to brave the crowds (which looked bad from the outside, but inside they were only about half full). We each ordered beers from the extensive list. They were cold and refreshing, but that was the only thing that bumped this from a 1-star to a 2. Something has changed at Fraser's that has ruined it for us, sadly. The Fish and chips I so loved has reduced in size (but not in price). I am also VERY convinced the fish had been frozen. I can't tell if it was already frozen and fried, or just frozen filets that they breaded and fried, but the texture was not that of fresh fish (or even freshish). It also had NO flavor. They use to have nice beer battered fish, that you could taste the beer, but no longer. My boyfriend had a steak sandwich. The first bit was all fat, there was no flavor, and if there was a whole cup of meat/onions I would be surprised. All this was terribly disappointing, but the worst came from the service. We waited around FOREVER to leave. Our plates had been cleared (I don't even think we were asked if we wanted another drink) and we just sat there for about 25 minutes. Our waitress walked by multiple times as she cleaned up the side room and finally we had to ask for the check (which I HATE doing because I feel so rude). I'm not sure if the bar is no longer in the same family or they have to cut back on the good stuff because of their new tacky sign, but I am throughly depressed and will not return.

Awesome neighborhood pub! Great atmosphere. Good beer and pub food. This is where to go to watch sports on TV and have a burger and beer. Sometimes it gets a bit busy and the waitresses may be a bit overwhelmed.

This is "our bar." The bar tenders are so friendly and make us feel welcome and comfortable. Unlike some places I've frequented, the servers actually take the time to remember our names and our drink orders. The atmosphere is always an appropriate mix of lively and laid back. The food is mostly bar grub. The burgers are especially delicious, and I also like the quesadillas. Much like apparently everywhere in Ann Arbor (as I am learning), they focus mostly on beer and don't have a cocktail list, but they do have a full bar and reasonably knowledgeable bartenders (well, most of them), so if you're a non-beer drinker such as myself you'll be able to get them to mix up something you like.

The food is good but the waitresses were probably drunk, plus it is expensive. Great sports atmosphere and a decent amount of selections, but customers are only treated OK here

I was here with a companion who so cheap it was embarrassing - he drank lemon water and bought nothing, left no tip. I was just going to get a beer, but I felt so bad for the waitress that I got the veggie & cheese tray, and I have to say they give you your money's worth; it was a ton of fresh veggies, crackers, a huge cheese ball and two boiled eggs, with what tasted like house-made ranch dip. Pretty good deal for a little under $8. The beer selection was good if not great, the waitress was nice and attentive. The night I was there it was fairly quiet, about half-full of what appeared to be regulars watching a game on the TV. It seems like a nice spot to hang out with a bunch of friends and drink beer for a few hours.

This place is the best. Been coming here for years, and I feel like I should point out what all the locals know--what Dan J from Brighton clearly didn't get the memo on--is that at Frasers's the customer is not always right, particularly if that customer is an asshole. And that's why I love the place. It's a divey pub. It's not Chilis or Applebees. It's not a place to take the kids. They don't have a 12-page Cheesecake Factory menu. It's great burgers, excellent beer selection, great drinks at fantastic prices and great service...as long as you abide by one simple rule: don't be an asshole.

My go-to local bar, even though it's not all that local for me. The service staff is a real highlight - yeah, I know they're all hot chicks, but they're also REALLY good servers and bartenders. I especially like that they seem to work as a team really well, especially when it's busy. Your glass is seldom empty at Frasers (unless you want it to be). Food is very good, especially for bar food. The BLT and Quesadillas are particularly tasty. Even the standard bar fare like wings or fries aren't overly greasy. They've also really stepped up their game with a nice selection of Michigan beers on-tap. And it's my favorite place in town to watch a game. Even on big game days, they seem to make it work (although for HUGE games -- get there a bit early or you won't find a seat).

Excellent beers at great prices (only $5 for La Fin Du Monde). Star rating is based on the beer and my buzz. The food is shitty, but it's edible. The pleasure derived from eating the burger doesn't even come close to outweighing the consequences of consuming the calories. The fried cheese sticks are of the mass-produced frozen shit made in China 3 years ago quality. Atmosphere is so lame it's cool. Nothing fancy, nothing special. From the viewpoint of a Texan, it's a quintessential Michigan bar. Love it.

Fraser's has it all, great food, a great staff, great beer selection, and great atmosphere. The Burgers are definitely a stand out, but not the only five star item on the menu. The Quesadilla, Reuben, and the new Southwest Egg Roll with Chipotle Ranch dipping sauce are just a few of my favorites. There's no better place in Ann Arbor to watch a game. Fraser's waitstaff make you feel right at home, and are extremely attentive. And the bartenders always give a generous pour.

  • Joss K.

A pub, in the American sense. Fine, nothing special--it's not really my kind of place--but oh my are the drinks inexpensive! Just watch out: the dirty martinis are, well, dirty! (Read: a little too dirty, perhaps.)

  • Margie M.

The "Bavarian Pretzels" were microwaved. Anyone who likes real pretzels knows, that's unforgivable. And it leads me to wonder how much of their food is store-bought and nuked. Go here for beer? Sure. Go here for dinner? Nope.

The service was incredibly negative as soon as we walked through the door. The bartender was incredibly huge pile of crap, with high levels of agressiveness. The manager, despite an anxious party of ten or more, insisted on being an egomaniac. We and everyone we know will not be returning here again.

Stopped into Fraser's last night because we were tired of all our usual spots around town. We were so surprised at how good the food was! I had the mahi mahi sliders and sweet potato fries. The sliders were perfectly grilled and the sweet potato fries were huge and crisp, a combination I've not found around here before. My boyfriend had the ham and swiss sandwich with regular fries and he said both were great. We weren't expecting such a tasty meal, just something different, but now Fraser's has been placed on our regular rotation and we will be back!

I wish I liked Fraser's, because it's in my neighborhood and that would be so convenient. We've been there a few times over the years, but there are so many better places we can spend our money at, even thought I have to drive or bike to them. The burgers are average. Like Cubs A.C. the menu includes a long list of fancy-sounding burgers that don't live up to their descriptions. If they splurged on higher quality buns, it might put them into the "good" category. I had the fish and chips a few years back, and it tasted like the kind you buy in the box at the grocery store. Fraser's may be a good place to go for beer, but if you want to get a bite of good food to eat in a townie bar, go to Casey's or the Old Town, where servers and bar staff actually make eye contact with you when you enter the building.

this is a great, local, chill place where it seems the waitresses know about half of the clientele! it is definitely a place where locals (not U of M students) go for a beer after work... we were there at 4pm recently during the week when our power was out and there was a pretty impressive crowd. the waitresses chatted us up and were really welcoming and friendly. they have an impressive selection of beers-- even the blonde beer from arbor brewing company! we tried a salad and a burger and im not sure id go back for the food, but we will definitely go back for drinks. they have a ton of TV's and it's a good place to watch a game!

Fraser's is ok. Came in on a Thursday afternoon post-regular lunch time and it was pretty dead. To the point where I almost felt uncomfortable coming in, like I was disturbing things or something. It was dark and REALLY chilly. I was freezing in the car and was looking forward to coming in and warming up but I felt just as cold in there. To that I say BRRR. As in BRRRRRing a sweatshirt. The food, however, is pretty decent. The burger was quite good and a substantial size. They have a number of different combinations but I'm pretty simple when it comes to my burger order--bun, meat, cheese, onion, ketchup and mustard. I like to taste the burger, you know? So I don't like lots of crazy stuff piled on. So, when it comes to burgers I say, "GIMME MY MEAT, BETCH!" And the meat here is pretty tasty. A little peppery but good flavor and fresh tasting. I wish I could say the same for the french fries. These were not so hot. Actually, their temperature was fine. It was just the taste. They tasted...stale? I don't know. Freezer burned? Just not good. I actually got a side of ranch to eat with them just to make them taste better (good ranch, though). The onion rings were a vast improvement, however. The staff was nice enough but our server kept switching throughout the course of the meal. There were definitely some regulars chillin at the bar watching sports and munching on some snacks. I overheard one of the waitresses take down the most complex grilled cheese order I have ever heard (he was very particular about the way things should be) and I didn't hear him complain when his food came, so props for that I suppose! All in all, not an awful place but it didn't really knock my socks off. I'd be willing to give it another shot but I'm not rushing out the door to do so.

I've been to Frasier's a few times with friends. It's really not that great. The food looked pretty decent, but like most bars there's nothing for us veggies. I'm not always in the mood for beer, so I've tried the long islands which are expensive, and I've gotten other mixed drinks which were expensive and weak. The bathroom is a nightmare. I think I saw our server's nipple. Not the type of night I'm looking for.

Great place to watch a game and drink. Amazing selection of beer. Don't bring kids unless you want to be judged by everyone, also the food is not too good. Go here after you eat somewhere nice for a drink and the game.

A couple friends and I decided to travel up to Ann Arbor to watch the basketball game. The place was cozy and my first impression was that it was clean ,but you could tell that it is an old smoking bar. Bathroom was clean. Service was on point. There were three servers working the floor and two bartenders. As it became closer to game time the place really filled up and the girls seemed to handle the crowd fine by using teamwork. We ordered skins, wings, and nachos as appetizers. All here were exactly what you would expect at a bar. We ordered burgers later on and they were pretty good too. Overall I was happy with our decision for our out of town adventure.

I have been to frasiers twice in the past week and had two totally different experiences. The first was a wednesday evening. It was quite busy but our server was very attentive and pleasant. We did not eat on this occassion but others @ our table did & pleased with their food. My friend and i then went on sat. For the u of m game. When we arrived around noon the place was packed. We found a few open seats @ the bar but when we sat down we were informed rather rudely that one seat was *saved* for a regular. We ordered an appetizer which was frito lay cheese out of a jar & stale nacho chips for 5 bucks. The *regular* arrived with his buddies who all planted themselves @ the bar & were joined by the owner of the place. The waitresses were rude & complaining loudly about their tables (i have a table with kids throwing shit all over the floor said one). None of them smiled..they looked hateful & miserable. The owner and his posse just sat & watched the mess go on. Not sure i will go back there.

This is generally not the type of place I seek out. The clientele scale tips in favor of the "I wanna get loud and hit on some waitresses" sort. Uughh. But we were nearby and looking for a good burger. So, against our better judgment, we decided to stay. In the end, I cannot argue with that burger. It was just... right. I'm not sure I would go back if I had time to venture elsewhere (i.e. Sidetrack), but if this is the closest joint and a good burger must be had, I might be persuaded.

We've spent many nights here. This is a great place to catch a game. The food is average bar food at a good value. They don't really have drink specials, ever, and the waitresses aren't overly friendly (although they aren't unfriendly)...but the space is comfortable and there's something about this place that just keeps us coming back. It's our bar and we love it.

Hidden away off of Packard street is little ole Fraser's Pub. I recently frequented here, for a meeting. Although I could not find parking in the main entrance, I did find some along the street nearby. I entered the pub and was greeted by local Ann Arborite middle aged men, watching sports and complaining about life. I found my group of individuals and sat down. Prices were the average- about 7-8 bucks per sandwich. I wasn't too impressed with the beer- just your normal- so I didn't order any. I did however, get the cajun chicken sandwich. Mmm. I was rather surprised. A lot of times, it's hard to cook chicken breast to the point where it's NOT dry, but I was rather surprised at how good it was. Kudos. Others around me seemed satisfied with their burgers/sandwiches as well. Although a little smoky, this pub is okay, being off the side of Packard. Not a place I would probably go, but it's your pretty standard type of pub food. A-okay just for the cajun chicken sandwich.

Real cheese on the nachos and a top notch beer selection. The service was friendly and fast.
